During the development of my final collection, OXIDISE, I quickly came to notice the connection between my project and the regeneration of Coventry.

 

Coventry becoming the City of Culture 2021 has led to developments being made within the city. Much like my project, it has been important for Coventry to not get rid of the old, but enhance it, turning it into something, new modern and relevant. This element of Coventry helped me to push my project further. Inspired by the stories behind the old historical Coventry buildings, I helped me to demonstrate the theme of 'beauty within decay' and sustainability in my work.

Unfortunately due to COVID-19, I have been unable to showcase OXIDISE as originally planned. However this has now given me the time to continue developing the project. I will be updating this body of work throughout the coming months, Putting my designs side by side with the regeneration of Coventry as the City nears the 2021 title of City of Culture.
